Initially awestricken by the hula hoop dance performances at music festivals and various other events, Chelsea began teaching herself the art in 2009. Like many, she had not picked up a hula hoop since she was a child, but it came as naturally to her as it had in her youth. Learning new tricks became addicting and within minutes it became her passion.
Since then, she has attended the workshops of North Americas most talented hoop dancers, continuously improving her technique and learning new and upcoming tricks and styles. In the last year, she has inspired and encouraged many women within her community to take up the dance. She believes that hooping “brings you back to your youth; it is both fun and meditative. I don’t know where I would be without it.”
